A mission to end accidental management. To raise the bar on people management. To support those who lead others. To create environments where people actually want to work. To empower managers. To Liberate HR.
We empower managers. We Liberate HR.
Liberate exists to end accidental management for good.
We believe that being a manager shouldn't feel overwhelming or like guesswork - and it certainly shouldn't be something people just "fall into" without support.
We're here to empower people managers with the skills, confidence, and mindset they need to thrive. Whether they're brand new to management or have been muddling through without formal training, Liberate provides the practical tools to help managers build trust, confidence, and engagement.
Liberate is built around four core management principles that transform accidental management into purposeful, human-centered leadership.
We call them the Liberate Management Principles.
Clarity, purpose and understanding
The superpower of all great managers
The antidote to ruinous empathy
Tackling difficult issues, head-on
Dan blends employment law expertise with a passion for helping people managers to lead better. He spent years in the tribunal trenches before turning his focus to preventing problems rather than just reacting to them. Dan's experiences taught him that most HR and people issues are attributable to a manager not having had a conversation when they should have done; or having a conversation that perhaps they should not have had.
Working closely with HR professionals, Dan also came to recognise a profession a distress; a profession that needed Liberating from manager mishaps, from the "have you got a minutes" and the "can you do it for me's", and from the ruinous empathy of themselves and others.
Stemming from his own curiosity, Dan developed the Liberate Management Framework. He now trains leaders and managers that seek to embed the skills of communication, curiosity, courage and candour in people managers; and aims to Liberate HR in the process.
Dan is a Legal Director at People Law, a boutique employment law firm that believes great businesses are built on great people. Whether it's investigating and resolving disputes, supporting big culture changes, or helping managers get the best from their teams, they recognise that there are always people at the centre.
